Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), also known as Drones

The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration are working with unmanned aircraft system organizations to promote UAS safety and help drone operators avoid doing anything hazardous to other airplanes or to people and property on the ground. All operators of UAS, aka drones, that receive compensation are required to obtain a commercial operations license. The license is to demonstrate that the operation is approved by the Federal Aviation Authority. In addition, the operator must carry the appropriate insurance coverage.
