Westbound I-94, west of Opportunity Drive in St. Cloud, closed due to crash

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (6:10 p.m.) – The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol have opened all lanes of westbound Interstate 94 west of Opportunity Drive in St. Cloud. The lanes were closed for more than three hours following a crash that occurred shortly before the afternoon commuter peak traffic period began.

Westbound I-94 remains backed up nearly to Highway 24 in Clearwater, and will take some time to clear. Motorists on westbound I-94 between Hasty/Silver Creek and St. Cloud should slow down and be prepared to stop if necessary.

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (2:55 p.m.) – The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol have closed both lanes of westbound Interstate 94 just west of Opportunity Drive in St. Cloud. Traffic is being directed up the Opportunity Drive ramp to County Road 75.

The road will be opened to a single lane as soon as possible. After westbound I-94 is opened to a single lane, the road will remain a single lane until further notice.

Motorists should expect delays and plan alternate routes. Motorists traveling westbound I-94 to St. Cloud should consider exiting to eastbound Highway 24 in Clearwater, to westbound Highway 10, to St. Cloud.
