Hwy 63 Lake City rail crossing closed, detoured for repairs beginning June 12
LAKE CITY, Minn. – Motorists on Highway 63 in Lake City will encounter a five-day detour beginning on June 12 as the Canadian Pacific Railway repairs its crossing, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Canadian Pacific will be replacing track and concrete panels at the crossing before repaving with asphalt. The work is expected to begin at 9 a.m., Monday, June 12 and continue through June 16 when it will reopen.
Hwy 63 will be closed at the crossing during the repair work, so motorists will be detoured south on South 10th Street, east on West Lakewood Avenue and north on South Eighth Street.
MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
