Open house set for Feb. 23 for I-94 construction from Minneapolis to Brooklyn Center
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The public is invited to attend an open house to learn about repairs and improvements the Minnesota Department of Transportation will make to Interstate 94 this year.
The open house is from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at the Minneapolis Park Board Building, 2117 West River Parkway in Minneapolis.
The project will make repairs and improvements on a nine-mile stretch from Nicollet Avenue in Minneapolis to Shingle Creek Parkway in Brooklyn Center. It is scheduled to start in late March and finish in July of 2018.
It features freeway resurfacing, bridge and ramps repairs and added guardrail and lighting. It will require the freeway to be reduce to two lanes and the closure of one side of the Lowry tunnel for about three months.
Representatives from the Minnesota Department of Transportation and project staff will be available to answer questions. MnDOT will also have staff to talk about job and internship opportunities within the agency and other MnDOT projects. Opportunities to discuss alternatives to drive and bus routes will be available.
